an oldie- but one of my favorites!

4.15.2009

I fell in love with Fran Keenan's Birmingham cottage the moment I saw it published in Cottage Living last year. Although it has a lot more pattern and color than I prefer- I love how it all works so well together. There are so many beautiful interiors out there- but very few that will fit into my budget. That's another reason why this house draws me in- it seems so attainable for someone my age.
.
I hadn't looked at that issue of CL in awhile- and was reminded of this great house today when I came across this blog.

I remember this home and loved it. I took the letters and did it in my son's walk in to make it more fun to play in.

worked on an event with Fran earlier this year, she's very talented. I love this house too -- have 'stolen' a few ideas! I have the same Hobby Lobby (!!) star burst mirror that shows up in the fourth picture (dirty little secret...)

I love this house. I have looked at it so many times and think of Fran every time I drive by it. I remember reading she put nailheads around the door in the foyer and since then I have always wanted to try it...

we looked at the house next door to Fran when we were house hunting, but it needed A LOT of work. I couldn't convince Wes what living next door to Fran was a major selling point, haha.

I think the house is FOR SALE! I've been trying to stalk out the real estate listing.

Oh love this house. I remember it so cleary from the magazine. Of course I did a massive cleaning one day and it went out with the trash by accident! You ladies are so lucky to be able to drive by that home. If that house is for sale one of you must go and take a tour and pictures of course.

What a beautiful home, I LOVE the side chair in the second to last picture. What a fun fabric. And the monogram detail on the bathroom curtains, so pretty.

I am a total blogstalker to many of you that have responded. I do not have my own blog (except for my little business that is my username) yet but enjoy my time looking at everyone else's! I am in Birmingham and live about 10 houses down and this house is definitely FOR SALE! The sad thing is... is that most of the furniture is gone. If they have an open house I will for sure go and at least check out the painted letters and the entrance walls!!

Let me also note... the house appears to have been "staged" and it unfortunately no where close to the taste we all know Fran would have had there.
