And while I want to keep this blog geared towards home design and pretty things- I also want to incorporate a little bit of the above. So today I thought I would share a bit of #1 & #2 with you.
.
This past Saturday I particpated in the Buster Britton Triathlon at Oak Mountain here in Birmingham. I will have to say that it was the first time that I have ever done a triathlon in the pouring.down.rain. It rained the whole time. But I had to keep reminding myself that it wasn't as hot as it normally would have been! I don't have any photos (yet) from the race so here is one from a race that we did last summer in Mississippi (photo of me and three of my coworkers/friends). I participate in triathlons for fun (mainly for the exercise)- and I never have any intentions of winning or losing. I just like to finish the race!
.
Changing gears... I thought that I would share a few recipes with you that I have made in the past week. I hope these links will work. I had a hard time uploading to a document site. Anyone familiar with one that works well? I think I will like using Google documents if I can get these to work. Anywho- here are a few recipes that are loved around our house.
.
.
I hope you enjoy!

First of all... triathalons? Wow. So impressed - I think just signing up for one would be intimidating. Congrats on finishing one this last weekend.
Second of all... I think I absolutely must get that Fried Onion Rings recipe, but I cannot enlarge it either... Let me know if you get it working! Sounds fabulous!
I'm impressed. I think the 1/2 marathon may be my max. My husband is dying to do a triathalon, I think it's become some sort of rite of passage for boys approaching 30. We have several friends who did the Memphis in May one this year.
Oh my gosh, those are mouth watering. For those of you who don't know Brooke is an AMAZING cook!
That is awesome! Congratulations on your triathlon.
Brooke - I didn't know you did tri's too! The last one I did was St. Anthony's (olympic distance) in St. Pete. Have you done that one yet? It's SOOOO fun and huge too!
xx
I"m so glad you share a bit of yourself in this blog too. One thing that I like more than design is people....so I'm glad to know more about the person behind a blog on my reading list. Yeah races!
i LOVE the barefoot contessa, but i think i'm going to have to try that pb pie recipe!
WOw! Great job! I really do wish I could get myself motivated to do one. I do love to run, but just need to stick with it longer than 2 weeks!
That recipe for the onion rings sounds YUMMY!
I love anything Barefoot Contessa--everything I try is excellent. I did a post on my blog about her shrimp scampi pasta--it is soooo good I have to make it once a week for my husband. Thanks for the new recipes. Congrats on the triathalon! I can not imagine the discipline and motivation it must take.
I commend you on running & Triathlons. I am not a runner; I can't enjoy it, but I wish I could. I do love designing invites and stationary as well. I can't wait to see some of your designs and well as reading about all the other things mentioned.
a triathlon?!? oh my gosh, good for you!!! I could not run 30 feet if you paid me...well ok I could do that but I would not enjoy it. Congrats, thats so great!!
Wow, I am always impressed with triathletes...I can bike, but run and swim... not so much :-) Congrats, you!
That peanut butter pie looks to die for!
Wow you are amazing! I can't believe you did it all in the rain! I swear, amazing. I just want to follow you around for one day! (Ok lots of days :)
