I'm always a big fan of many of the houses published in AH&L (as if you didn't already know that). Here is another fabulous one. And to top it off- it's located at Alys Beach. I will have to admit that my favorite part{s} would definitely be the exterior/outdoor areas.

I agree, the outdoor areas of this home are amazing!

Those lanterns on that outdoor porch (I believe the article called that the 'Summer Kitchen,' which I love!) are amazing. We worked on a house just across the street from this one, that palm courtyard all the front doors on that street open onto is one of my favorite parts of Alys Beach.

Ahh, I fell in love with Alys Beach when another Blogger (who? Annechovie maybe?) posted pictures of it. I adore it and would LOVE to have a place where I could style it after that. So many have a fabulous mix of modern/contemporary with a beachy-cottage feel. Perfection.

These are all amazing images, but I am in LOVE with that first one. I want a little stone patio just like that. Imagine being able to sit out there late in the afternoon... sigh.

Thank you for the wonderful comments. We chose that home because of it's incredible outdoor space. This design project has been amazing.

Alys Beach inspires you to take a fresh look at everything. The "grass" under the palms is dichondra. When we find it in our traditional lawns, out come the chemicals. At Alys, it is everywhere.

I love Alys, but I always feel like I am missing something when I look at those stark, cloister-like walls. Is it a commune? Do they do something there that neccessitates restricting windows on whole sides of buildings? Will they let me join up ? :)
