Anne Turner's Den Redo

1.21.2010

Several rooms of Anne Turner's Birmingham house have been published throughout the past few years- and here is her newest redo that was published in January's Southern Living. As I mentioned last week- it's always fun to have a peek inside some one's house who is the same age as me.
.
Here is her small den before:
And here is the after:

I love her big patterned ottoman--- and I also love her wall of photos. I am a big fan of photos- but often have a hard time deciding where to place them around my house. What a great idea to dedicate a whole wall to a grouping.
.
I'll see if I can pull some files from my archives and post about her other published rooms tomorrow.

Love the ottoman and the fireplace! It's amazing what paint can do to spruce a place up. Looks so cozy.

How fun! I grew up with Anne Turner - we were good friends from 5 years old until we graduated high school! She went to Auburn and myself to Alabama, so we've lost touch since, but so neat to see her den and to see her pregnant!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

Does the article mention how she treated the floor finish? Is that painted? It looks so much fresher than the original parquet.

I agree on the photos. I really think photos of family and friends make a house feel like a home. The redo looks wonderful!

What a beautiful room. I just noticed that pretty floor lamp and realized I need to get a new shade for mine asap- I love the new crisp look of the white shade she has on it :)

If you are shy about a belly pic go here: http://rummeybears.blogspot.com/

This woman is so cute. I would NEVER be on my blog in a bikini, much less in a bikini 9 months pregnant, but she is the cutest thing ever.

So talented. The ottoman is the best part of the room! The fabric is from Carleton V and is called Oxus. I personally like it better in Red or Blue.
