Classic Remix

1.14.2010

I saw this home featured on AH&L. It starts off the article with this:
"Designer Barbara Howard guides a young couple to embrace a fresh take on traditional style."

I was glad that they showed the 'young couple' because I often wonder... what do they mean by young? Does anyone else ever have this thought?

this place is gorgeous. love the sofa by the stairs, but would beware of children jumping off, or maybe only my children do this?

I LOVE this house...and I'm thinking they're under 40. Yay, we're still 'young' Brooke! Crazy about the ziz zag stripe on that settee and excited to see Courtney Garrett's work hanging over the fireplace. Great house.

I do wonder what they mean by young because I think our age and then the homes look like this and I wonder what is wrong with me!

That's Buckhead for you...I don't know them personally, but I believe Beau and Thayer are around 30. It's a great house, huh?!

this made me laugh a little. I love when mags note that a couple is "just starting out" or is "on a budget." most of them seem to be starting out on a budget that a little different than mine!

this sure is pretty though.

Lovely! I like those stars hanging above the couch...cute touch!
What's young? 40 is the new 30?

I noticed the age of the couple that in the article, too. I guess I did not read it very carefully because I remember telling myself those were the owners' children. Under 40? Ok, I have some time to catch up with that has, but LOTS to do. Under 30? I'm not going to make that ;-)

I love this house too! However I am WAY WAY behind in my lifestyle if these people are my age! How depressing that people my age actually have houses that I hope I can have by 50!

young + cute couple. That house is SO awesome, it makes me miss the south and the possibility of actually buying a home:)

Beautiful kitchen, and I agree with most of the comments here:
1. that's buckhead
2. uh, if they're 30 and livin' like this, 50 is going to be ridiculous! What a blessing!

i too often wonder what is considered "young" when they mention that in magazines. while i do love the outside of this house, i still am very content with my little 1941 cottage ;) and am a few years on the other side of 30 ;)

LOVE it!! And yes, I think 'please say these people are in their late 30s or 40s.'... and if they are not I - well, I won't tell you what I think. :) It's a beautiful home regardless of the couple within! xoRH

I have met the owner of this home and she is in her early 30's, don't know about her husband. As you know from reading the article she owns the store 'Pieces' here in Atlanta. It is a lovely 'very high end' store. It is a fun place to go when you come to town!

That is my dream home!! The young couple has such great classic taste. AH&L is a gem of a magazine. They feature some of the most beautiful homes I've ever seen. I drool over them at night. Makes my search for a house in Toronto depressing.
