Do you have boxes?

2.23.2010

I love a pretty window box. We do not have them on our current home but I think that I might like them on our next home (if I could commit to keeping them up).
.
The new BH&G magazine arrived in my mailbox on Friday and it has me longing to get out in my yard to plant some pretty flowers. Due to the temps dropping again this week- I'll have to wait a few more weeks for that. So for now- these photos will be my inspiration.
.

Do you have window boxes? If so, what do you plant in yours?

They all look beautiful. I don't have any window boxes, but I have a larger planter in the backyard where I plant flowers (and try very hard to keep the critters from eating them!).

From the day we moved in I have wanted window boxes, maybe this year will be the year!

I don't have them, but I WANT them - I have the perfect spot outside my kitchen window! I wonder if I could get my husband to build me one, as I looked last year and thought they were quite pricey to buy pre-built!

oh, I've got some planned for this spring...want to do some with shady stuff on my deck and maybe one on the front porch as well. I already started digging leaves out of the landscaping this weekend while it was warm outside!

I do have a window box in my backyard and I can see it from my kitchen window. It always brings a smile to my face. I painted it a cobalt blue and right now it has primroses in it and they just look so perky and happy, they always bring a smile to my face.Kathysue

These are so pretty! I have one under my kitchen window, but I wouldn't dare show it now - it looks pitiful! I have yet to find the right combination of plants that keeps looking good for any length of time. Last spring I planted geraniums, which held up well, but whatever I planted with those quickly bit the dust. If only you could get a window box that watered itself!!

Hey Brooke! It's Elizabeth Booth!
I found your blog through your etsy shop awhile back and have been following your posts ever since. Love the blog! What a small world...and congrats on the baby - so fun!

I love, love, love my windowboxes. 5 out front and one on the deck that I can see from the kitchen sink. You get to experiment each year with new plants and color combinations! It's like miniature decorating.
Except for the caterpillar problem I have. I think it's the cheap-ass petunias I get from Home Depot.

We haven't had any window boxes here but I love when the plants are identified in pictures! Great resource! Trina
