Lindsey Bond's 1950 cottage is in the recent issue of House Beautiful- the Express Yourself issue. While it is more modern than my design style (that's another post for another day)... I've found myself soaking up the details of it. I love the neutral color palette with only a tiny bit of color and pattern- it's just enough to add some interest and not come across too cold or boring.

This is so beautiful! I just love that blue color in the dining room!
I agree! We are so blessed here in Birmingham with amazing talent. I took some time over the weekend and read the same article. My favorite picture (which you posted) is the one of the banquette & chairs. Specifically, the backs of those chairs! She used a wonderful fabric to make the backs so special. Loved that!

To be honest, I never saw a point of going to Birmingham...that is until I discovered the blog world and all of the amazing talent that it holds. I am thinking a trip next summer might be in order!
I am loving the use of all of the antiqued mirrors throughout this beautiful home! Posts like these make me so proud to be a "Birmingham-ian!"
love the simplicity of these pictures
I agree this home is very interesting and it does not look cookie cutter or trendy, just well edited and personal. I really like it!!

I just had this conversation with my husband the other day...about how in the blogging world there just seems to be so much talent in Birmingham of all places (no offense, it's just not what I would have considered the cosmopolitan capital of the country - neither is my small town)...being from the south, he wasn't shocked...I guess it builds up around the college town. Anyway, another great design in Birmingham.
There are amazing homes in B'ham....I remember so many shots in my (now gone) favorite mags were from your town. This girl has some great taste.
I adored this home too. It was also featured in Birmingham Home & Garden a few months back. So fun to see another view.
I was reflecting on this story the other day.....
Loved the mirrors and the open kitchen with shelving.
