I am planning on painting just about everything the same shade of white in our new house. But I do want a few things to be dark. Those that I am thinking about are: a few custom millwork/built-ins, kitchen island, and Michael's office/man room walls. Other than that: white.
While looking at colors for some of my built-ins--- I started thinking about painting my bedroom walls dark. Maybe a shade lighter than the built-ins? If I do this I will bring in the light/white with my bedding, window panels, headboard, beside tables, etc. Here are a few photos fueling my inspiration:

I love dark bedrooms. Makes it all cozy and perfect for sleep. I did a darkish grey and almost wish I would have went darker. Can't wait to see your new place.
ooohhhh.... I am LUSTING over these dark bedrooms! Do it! I painted my bedroom a dark putty color (it used to be a very pale blue) and I SWEAR Mr.Husband and myself sleep better-- I cannot wait to see this! It would also be such a great contrast to all of your white!

Ooh, I love a dark bedroom. So cozy and cocoon-like. These are great inspiration pics. I'm going to be doing a post soon about my dark powder room I painted recently. I love it . . . it's sort of a dark gray/navy. It's called Mysterious by Benjamin Moore.

do it, do it! There is nothing more romantic/cozy than dark bedroom walls. We just redid our bedroom and painted the walls Porpoise by sherwin williams and I think I've been converted. Dark walls are my fave- especially in the BR!
Beautiful. But white is timeless! I never get tired of the creamyness and calmness of white. I do love the idea of the dark accents in builtins and island.
I LOVE the idea of a dark bedroom. My husband and I built a house this past year and I tried, REALLY REALLY hard to get him to agree to a dark bedroom, and it scared him to death. So I opted for a medium gray. It's not exactly what I wanted, but maybe next go-around I can get my dark bedroom!

Yes. Do it. So cozy. And love the idea of all white everywhere else. When we first moved here we couldn't paint and it killed me, but now I like our white...we were ahead of the trends and didn't know it! :)
