Brass is Back

2.03.2011

Brass is back. Well, at least it is in my book. I am planning on incorporating it into the new house. But I will save that for another post. Here are a few images where brass is used in an updated way (think antiqued and unlacquered).

(thinking about using these pendants in my house)

What are your thoughts? Would you use it or did the 80's/ early 90's use of it forever scare you away?

Oh I love brass. I'm using all brass in our master bedroom design. It's also in our dining room and our guest room! haha.

I've noticed it a lot lately, too. I'm a little hesitant to go all in and use it in my home. But, it is looking rather nice in small doses and in these spaces. Great post!

I am totally onboard. I just scored a great solid brass (warm rubbed) table lamp for my son's new room. Gotta love goodwill!

Oh, I've got hints of brass all over now. Love it! Funny, I just did a post on some Architectural Digests I found from the 80's. Yes, there is brass, but it looks timeless to me now.

I actually love unpolished brass and have a lot of it throughout my home-my favorite frames are those old portrait frames with oval cutout centers that are plastic brass colored.

I never thought I'd say this, but I am totally loving brass. I have a vintage strapwork table and RH's telescopic lamp (both brass) in my living room and I love the warmth of the metal...I'm definitely a brass convert!

I love love brass-using it for hardware in my new kitchen and have bits of it all over my house- it's just so glamorous and warm all at the same time. Love!

Love it! Our new home's hardware is the '80s, Golden Girls style brass, which has got to go. But I love all the other brass finishes!

Ah! What's not to love about brass? It adds a touch of not-so-serious glamour to any style of room. I am obsessed with brass and collect any 70s style bits I can find. The more worn the better!

I love using brass. I have touches of it all over the house. I can't seem to convince my clients to do it though. They all have that lacquered stuff or have just gotten rid of it and I can't seem to convince them that it would be a wonderful warm accent for their spaces.

Yes it is to the surprise of so many nickel lovers. I still have brass in my home, I love the antiqued patina the best. I think it adds so much warmth. Great images to show how to use it well, Kathysue

I love a touch of brass when it's matte and not all shiney like the 80's/early 90's. A more antique finish is gorgeous!

Hppy weekend!
