details for the doggies

5.23.2011

My brain is overloaded with thoughts/details for the new house. Trying to sort and organize and figure out a plan since the time is here.

Although I am not sure if built-ins for the playroom/mudroom will be in the budget during this phase... one design detail that I've kept in mind over the past few months is a place to tuck away a dog bed. Such a simple concept but so smart.

I love the idea. Really wish I had a spot for our little Lottie, but can never quite figure it out. She also prefers the sofa, so it would probably be a waste! Good Luck on your move!! M.

I would loooooove to have a designated dog bed spot. Poor Maddie's gets moved all over the house at my whims. Also funny that we both posted about this today.

And I can't believe it's almost time for you to move! We HAVE to do something soon!

Our last house had 2 areas for Lola the Pug while she was with us. Once was her bed under a seating bench in the mud room and the other spot was right across with another area for her food & water. Both spaces were her own and also 'out of sight' from the rest of the house. She loved her spaces and having her food & water in the back room with tile was a huge lifesaver, or should I say floor saver!

I am lucky enough to have a large laundry room that had six built in cubbies for laundry baskets. My puppy takes up the middle one with a bed pillow inserted inside. It is really nice to have a tucked away place for him!

Love that the dogs have a special spot too! Everyone should make a plan for their dogs!

I think this idea is great. My husband thinks that our oldest should just take the dog with her to college next fall, lol.

oh, boy. i would give anything to have those in my house! my pups need something a little better than a kennel tossed in between the couch and the wall :-/

What a smart idea!!! Miss Boof would love it! Right now her beds sort of migrate as the week goes on. :)
