scott's + beach + house things

Lots has been going on and it's hard to keep up with the blog.

A few weekends ago I headed to Atlanta for a much needed girls weekend... it was such a treat. I was even able to head over a day early and go to Scott's. We spent the weekend shopping and eating... two of my favorite things to do. Here is a snapshot of one of my carts in Ikea. More on that later!

As soon as I got back from ATL.... I packed the family up and we headed to the beach for a week. A fun little getaway.

I don't have any hydrangeas in my new yard but they are constantly on my mind. I hope to get some planted one day soon. Lots of them! But here are a few from the neighbor's yard... I love having them spread out in vases around my house.

A few projects going on around my house... trying to finish up the boys' bathroom. Two frames to be hung on the wall, new stripe shower curtain from West Elm, and fabric options for the roman shade!

And sweet Gray's nursery has been 95% complete since Day 1.... except for the windows. I picked up these inexpensive panels from Ikea (I plan to remove the tabs) along with a couple yards of fabric that I found from Scott's. Hopefully I can show you some pics of finished projects soon.

Speaking of projects....Collins' mother's morning out program isn't meeting this summer- so it's just the boys and me. I have a feeling you'll probably be seeing more pics of them than projects around (because they will be hard to complete).. but I'll see what I can do!

chest vs. console

I've gone back and forth on this issue and I have decided that I like the look of both. I love an entry that has a big pretty antique chest to greet you. But I've also been loving the look of a console... espeically with a bench or basket layered underneath. That little bit of detail adds so much. And while there are some great looking entries that have a bench.... I personally want somewhere to put a pretty lamp!

*I've traced this back to Cote de Texas but that's as far as I've found it. Anyone know original source? I'd love to know who designed this space!

Do you prefer one look over the other? What do you have in your home? I'd love to know!

new furniture

While my living room still looks like this....

We did finally get around to purchasing some furniture for the patio. We spend so much time out there that it was needed!

While I really wanted to save up and buy this from Summer Classics.... we decided that this from World Market (shown above) would work for a few years.

Last night we enjoyed a glass of wine once the little ones went down!
